Shihan Rolan Peak, Sensei
Instructor at the Beach Dojo
Sensei Peak is a native of Panama City Beach and has been training in the martial arts since 1977. He is a 4th degree black belt. In April of 2000, Sensei Peak traveled to Japan and had the honor of training under Grand Master Yamamoto in the home Dojo in Kitakyushu City, Japan.
In 1982 Sensei Peak began teaching self-defense and the use of force to Police Recruits and provided in-service training to Police Officers and Correctional Officers. Among his many teaching certifications, Sensei Peak was among the first three Law Enforcement Instructors to become certified in teaching the PR-24 (Police Tonfa.) He has also been certified by Pressure Point Control Tactics (PPCT) and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement as an instructor in self-defense and use of force, and taught classes for many years at Gulf Coast Community College.
In 2001, Sensei Peak stepped in as the lead instructor of the Panama City Beach Dojo at Frank Brown Park, when his Sensei, Shihan Gary Wells, was asked to take over the Panama City Dojo at Oakland Terrace Park.
Yoshukai Karate has been taught at Frank Brown Park since shortly after the doors opened in 1986.
